Why don't red states eliminate their public schools and state subsidized universities?
Judging by your first answerer, many seem to think college is just a cesspool of liberal indoctrination. They will prefer their children to work in a factory. They don't respect education. This is why red states have a low ranking, the Northeast is high in SATS and college graduates. These are the people who are going to work and pay taxes. They contribute to their state like NJ and NY. It is these states that after paying money to the federal government give their money so red states can live off us. NJ gets the lowest return from the federal government while red states only give back cents in state taxes. The federal government gives them subsidies for their farms but they criticize the social programs. As far as I'm concerned subsidies of any kind are a handout. They talk the talk, but they don't want to walk the walk.
