I think that you should try talking to him about it and see if he's ok and if something's going on. If he just gives you the cold shoulder than maybe you should break it off. But something might be bothering him and he needed friend time or something. Sometimes friends can comfort you in ways a lover can't. But you should definately talk to him about his strange behavior.
