I got a notice in the mail to serve on a jury?

i am not a united states citizen but i will be having my oath ceremony in a few days? i really dont feel like going to this jury...because if i get choosen? What about my school? i got a go to school.. im not goint to miss it just because of some criminaL..how does that work? Do jurors get paid ? ..do you have to have a job in order for them to pay you ??
